School of Art & Humanities (S.A.H.)

Arts & Humanities equips an individual for every aspect of life. It enables to discover talents, interests & abilities and develops them fully. They deal with study of history, literatures, cultures of human civilisation, sociology, anthropology, political behaviours and other forms of human behaviours and organization. The Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree is distinguished by its humanistic emphasis.

As globalization spreads, businesses now spend a lot of time working with cultures very different from our own. Tangible skills are great in a global economy; however there are certain skills inherent to a Bachelor of Arts degree that makes it valuable commodity in today’s market. The skills like critical thinking, argument skills, communication skills and management & administration skills are some of the key virtues that upgrades an individual for 21st century.

Recently, a prominent American economist, Robert Reich, identified the skills that would best serve people in the 21st century employment arena. Reich stated that people who think abstractly, have conceptual abilities, can think critically, can analyse problems with their solutions, have general research skills, and can communicate effectively will be the most employable. Students with Bachelor of Arts degrees have shown that they know how to think abstractly, think critically, and communicate effectively. Therefore, in many ways graduates with Bachelor of Arts degrees face an open world with many career possibilities.

Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) is an undergraduate academic degree awarded for a course or program usually in a branch of Liberal Arts; it is one of the oldest and well known degrees of the world. This bachelors program lasts to 3-4 years depending upon the country, in India the duration of B.A. degree spans over a period of 3 years. A person seeking admission in arts courses has to study 5 subjects to be picked from a number of combinations of subject one can opt for depending the availability of choices in the institutes.

B.A. is considered as generally the easiest stream according to larger populace and generally looked down as compared to Science and Engineering stream. The reason behind this is that a person who graduates in Arts, holds a degree in a general non-scientific subject area. This is primarily because students seeking Engineering and Science are limited to their respective fields, whereas students pursuing Arts are not limited to their specific fields, their scope of specialization is vast. Arts students have the option to choose to major and minor in English, Hindi, French or any other linguistic course, Psychology, Sociology, Philosophy, History, Political Science and many more areas.

At SR Global University we propose to offer courses at under-graduation and graduation level in the School of Arts & Humanities. Rajasthan has very few good quality institutes of higher education in arts & humanities; hence we aim to fulfilling that gap. In addition to the routine graduation courses the university shall also offer Honours courses at under-graduate level. The curriculum of the courses shall be developed keeping in mind the aspect of competitive examinations for various jobs in government and public sector.

SR Global University proposes a number of specializations in the master’s degree. We also would be offering courses like drawing, painting, sculpting, pottery etc. for students with artistic skills and aptitude. The methodology would be made more interactive and interesting to encourage students to pursue these courses. Seminars and workshops of academicians, award winners in different fields shall be organized for knowledge enhancement and exposure of its students.

Admissions to these courses shall be made on merit basis without any entrance test. Students securing 50 or more than 50% in class-XII board would be eligible to apply for admissions in under-graduation courses. Admission to M.A. would be done on the basis of the merit list prepared on student’s percentage marks in their graduation exams.
