School of Commerce & Finance (S.C.F.)

Careers in commerce are undergoing a sea change both in terms of options and scope, commerce has become a sought after and popular option among students. Commerce is a fundamental academic UG programme, besides Science, Arts, Engineering and Medicine. Commerce is a broad orbit of interdisciplinary branches viz. accountancy, business administration, finance, economics, marketing, advertisement, e-commerce, and so many. The overall economic health of a nation largely depends on advanced commerce studies.

Commerce opens up many career avenues. Globalization, foreign insurance and foreign banks has created enormous job opportunities for commerce students. Chartered Accountant (CA) is still a coveted career. On successful completion of B.Com., students get jobs relating business and finance and also in non-finance sector in the fields like mass communication, law, hotel management, etc. or pursue a professional course like CA, CWA, CFA; B.Com degree serves as the stepping stone for MBA (finance) too.

Commerce students can even take a route of teaching after graduation and post-graduation or compete for Civil Services, Indian Economic Service, Indian Statistical Services, etc. e-Commerce is a well-suited career option for commerce students because of their sound understanding of business transactions.

At SR Global University we propose to establish School of Commerce &Finance, it shall offer courses at both under graduate and graduation level in Commerce and Finance streams. In addition to the regular programs, the students would get an opportunity to even opt for integrated courses immediately after their 10+2. Integrated courses would be available in combination with Legal and Business Administration. The objective of integrated courses would be to give students advantage of knowledge two streams.

This opens new avenues to students aspiring for a rapid growth in their professional careers.

The Commerce school and its pedagogy would give deep insights to the business, financial planning, risk management, accounting and prevalent tax practices. Specialization courses would be available in Master’s program where the students can choose from to build their career. Industry experts, professionals and case studies would be an integral part of the curriculum of students pursuing commerce.

Admission to B.Com courses would be done on merit basis; students must have scored minimum 50% marks in Class-XII Board Examinations. For M.Com. the merit list shall be made on the percentage scored in graduation exams.
